my beautiful boy

I can't believe that my "Beautiful Boy" will be one years old tomorrow! Where has this past year gone?

As I sit here thinking back over the past year, I will never forget my first email that I got from a CdLS mom that lives here in Omaha... She emailed me when Vinny was probably a few weeks old. (She had got my information from the CdLS Foundation and decided to contact me. I was not yet ready to read, hear, or learn about other children with CdLS as I was still dealing with myself and coming to the realization that I had just had a special needs baby...).

Anyway, in this email that she had written me, she told me about her feelings over the first year of her babies life and how she now feels after a whole year had gone by. She wrote about how in love she is with her little girl and how her whole family's lives have changed for the better. It was amazing how that little email made me feel like things would be ok and I was about to embark on a journey that I could never turn back on!

So here I sit almost a year later and now I completly understand what she was talking about! I have learned so much from this "little soul" over the past year than I think I have learned throughout my entire 35 years! I feel like I am a better person because of Vinny. I feel like my boys will be better people because of him as well!

For those of you who don't know me IRL (in real life)...I have a very "type A" personality! I like to plan ahead, make lists, and most of all be prepared! Vinny has taught me to slow down and take each day and moment for what it is worth...and to not look to far ahead into the future as we don't know what it will bring!

I have learned that most issues will work them selves out...

I feel so so blessed for all of the friends I have made throughout this past year! I don't know what I would ever do with out my CdLS community. The support and understanding that they provide is priceless!

I thank God every day that Vinny is healthy and here with me! I can't wait to see what the future will bring for him and our family (of course I will try to do that with patience)... I believe that I will continue to grow and beome a stronger better person because of this little person God let us have in our lives!

Everyday when I look at Vinny, my heart melts for him! I love this little angel so much!

Happy Birthday Vincent! I LOVE YOU!!!
