playing catch up

Where in the heck has the last few weeks gone? I can't believe we are in the middle of March already! Life is crazy, hectic, chaotic, and fun as usual around here!

We have been going non stop with appointments, therapy, school, work, and general life stuff!

For those of you who know me, I love routine! Especially my kids! These past few weeks have been anything but routine for us!

Lets see---a few weeks ago the Gomboo (a.k.a. -fever, vomiting, coughing, sore throat, stuffy noses, diarrhea, ear aches, or just feeling crappy) started in our household!

With a family of six, it just doesn't come and go...it lingers and lingers....

Vinny started vomiting after every G-tube feeding- otherwise acting perfectly normal! So we took him in to have a once over by the Doc and wouldn't you know it he had not one, but TWO raging ear infections!

Poor guy! So he was started on antibiotics.

The next day we took Avery in and he was started on antibiotics.

In the mean time, Frank has been puking every so often...just out of the blue...all over my carpet, bed, his bed, himself, etc...

So the carpet cleaner guy has been here this past week as well.

Leo has just had a cough....

I think now the boys are on the up and up (knock knock knock).

Needless to say I am so SICK of the laundry piling up around here! I actually spent an hour and a half folding a putting away the other night.

I just can't get caught up on it!

Vinny continues to have his therapy sessions...the therapists are always trying to come up with something new for him. This day they decided to put him in this bucket to see what he would do.

I think he really enjoyed being jostled and pulled around by Lyn and Lauren....I was starting to wonder who was having more fun--Vin or the therapists.

Lauren his speech and hearing therapist has been working with us on different ways to try and communicate with Vinny (not just verbally, but visually too).

When they were moving him around in the bucket and would stop, Vin would start to fuss, so when they started moving him again he would stop...

It was a great "moment' to use the "more" and "all done" signs with him.

Maybe some day if I am patient enough, Vin will actually try and use the signs????

The weather has been absolutely beautiful the past few days! The boys can not get enough of being outside!

Bed time seems to be much easier as I think they are pretty tired from running around!

Leo and Frankie have really been getting along well now that they have more room to move about!

It is nice to see them playing together without being mean and fighting!

I have a feeling we will be seeing more of the "boots"!

Frank loves them and they are so easy for him to put on and take off!

We get a lot of flack from folks when he wears these boots! They can't believe I let him wear them in public, to school, and in the summer when it is 100 degrees!

Oh well--I have learned to let things like that go and just do what is simple and easy!

Some battles just are not worth fighting!

I am sure when he is in high school, he will prefer some other type of "normal" shoes!

Vin had his sleep study this past week. He is a "noisy" sleeper, so the docs wanted us to do one to make sure he is not having any episodes of apnea.

I guess his tonsils are pretty big (3/4), so maybe he will have to have those out and then his sleeping will be better.

I really had myself worked up for this sleep study!

Vin HATES having his head touched and that is right where all of those wires are put.

This child AMAZES me!

He did not cry once while the tech was getting him all set up!

I am not kidding you!

He sat there and laughed and giggled...

Sometimes I wish I could just be in "Vinny's world" and not take life so seriously!

I tell you this kid teaches me something new every day!

Anyway- the study went well...he fell right asleep- didn't mess with anything!

I think I hardly got any sleep--but oh well what is new?

Glad that is done and over with...now we just have to wait to see what the results say.

I have enjoyed getting back to work and having some "routine" back!

Today when I came home from work- this is what I found on the couch!

Doesn't he look cute all sacked out with his feet crossed, getting his belly filled up, and sucky hanging out of his mouth?

I have a feeling he thinks life is good!

I am ready for the weekend, but I think it is just as busy as the rest of the past few weeks have been!

Maybe someday we will have NOTHING on the schedule?
